Day 1
Arrival in Dar es Salaam – Transfer to Mikumi National Park

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide. After a short briefing, begin your scenic drive to Mikumi National Park, passing through picturesque landscapes, local villages, and the beautiful Uluguru Mountains. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and enjoy time to relax before dinner. The evening offers stunning views of the surrounding wilderness and an exciting introduction to Tanzania’s Southern Circuit.

Day 2
Full Day Safari in Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive through Mikumi National Park. The park is home to elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, and numerous antelope species. Explore the famous Mkata Floodplain, where wildlife gathers throughout the year. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park while surrounded by nature before continuing your afternoon game drive in search of predators and other fascinating wildlife.

Day 3
Mikumi National Park – Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Following breakfast, depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park, known for its lush forests, waterfalls, and rare primates. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided hike through tropical rainforest trails leading to the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls. Along the way, your guide will introduce you to unique plant species, colorful birds, and endemic wildlife found nowhere else on Earth. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4
Udzungwa – Nyerere National Park
After breakfast, continue your journey to Nyerere National Park, Africa’s largest protected wildlife area. The scenic drive takes you through rural landscapes and untouched wilderness. Arrive at your lodge overlooking the Rufiji River and enjoy lunch before relaxing. In the evening, embark on a sunset boat safari where you may encounter hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species along the riverbanks.

Day 5
Full Day Safari in Nyerere National Park
Today is dedicated to exploring the incredible wildlife of Nyerere National Park. Enjoy a full-day game drive through diverse habitats including woodlands, grasslands, lakes, and river systems. Search for elephants, lions, leopards, African wild dogs, buffaloes, giraffes, and countless bird species. A picnic lunch will be served in a scenic location within the park before continuing your adventure.

Day 6
Walking Safari and River Exploration
After an early breakfast, enjoy a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. Walking through the African wilderness offers a unique perspective, allowing you to learn about animal tracks, plants, insects, and the ecosystem. After lunch and some relaxation, enjoy another boat excursion on the Rufiji River, where wildlife often gathers along the banks during the cooler hours of the day.

Day 7
Nyerere National Park – Dar es Salaam – Departure
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Dar es Salaam or transfer to the nearby airstrip for a scheduled flight. Along the way, enjoy your final views of Tanzania’s southern wilderness and reflect on the incredible wildlife encounters and landscapes experienced throughout the safari. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight home.
